SHAMROCK BIDS FOR A NAPS HAT-TRICK FOLLOWING PLEASANT BAY WON 11-10 (Monday) and SHARJAH WON 5/2 (Tuesday): He heads to Sligo for today’s best bet.

Don’t get me wrong I’m pleased with a winning nap !!!

At any price but was going for good odds yesterday.

This is what I said in the column yesterday:

I’m putting one up at a price today – around 8 on BETDAQ at the time of writing. I didn’t think that Sharjah fared too badly on his hurdling debut over course and distance earlier in the month despite being a beaten favourite.

I even had a place bet, as well as the win, on Sharjah.  He was returned the 5/2 FAVOURITE on track and scrambled home first in a tight finish.

Well done if you were on – especially at significantly better BETDAQ odds earlier in the day.

It also means it’s the start of a ‘mini sequence for the naps:

Mon: PLEASANT BAY (NAP) WON 11/10
Tues: SHARJAH (NAP WON 5/2

We head to Sligo for their mixed card which gets underway at 4.50 – on soft ground.

It’s the ground that sways me towards Pearl Earing in the opener. She ran well on soft ground at Limerick on debut when second and then was outclassed in a Group 3 at the Curragh next time out (on faster ground). Back at this level she should lose her maiden tag.

Hilltown Gal is more experienced but was well beaten on her only start with give in the ground whilst Hannah’s Magic’s course and distance second last time out was on good ground.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Pearl Earing (4.50 Sligo)
