MATCH OVERVIEW:

The big games keep coming at the IPL on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week! Royal Challengers Bengaluru host Sunrisers Hyderabad in Lucknow – given the poor home record for RCB in Bengaluru, they might not mind moving stadiums to play their final home game! They will actually play their final two games here; as their final group fixture is actually away to Lucknow Super Giants. RCB have been bang in the mix for the playoffs, and they come into this game sitting in second place. Gujarat Titans play on Thursday and sit top of the table – they’ll be hoping for a loss there so they have a chance to go top.

As I have already said this week though, it’s been so competitive in the top half of the table this IPL that getting into those top two spots is massive to get two chances at getting into the final. Punjab Kings sit on the same amount of points as RCB coming into the final two games over the next few days, so it’s going to be exceptionally tight – there isn’t anything between the sides on net run rate too. RCB are on 0.482 and Punjab Kings are on 0.389 – Punjab Kings do have a tough finish; their final two fixtures will be Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians.

RCB will be fully expected to win here given how poor the Sunrisers Hyderabad have been at this IPL. There’s definitely been a bottom three this season with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. The Sunrisers did win their last game against Lucknow Super Giants, and they did beat CSK recently too but obviously most sides have. Two wins from four games is actually their best record of the season though, and they would have been Delhi Capitals given they were only chasing 133 at the innings break so you could argue they are in the best form of the tournament – albeit at a low level!

WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:

As I said above, this game has been moved to Lucknow from Bengaluru. Scoring has been pretty consistent here this season – the first inning scores have been 171/7 (chased), 203/8 (won), 180/6 (chased), 166/7 (chased), 159/6 (chased) and 205/7 (chased). I think it’s pretty clear that you should bowl first here if you win the toss – I wouldn’t just expect a high scoring game, but as you can see the scoring has been pretty consistent and it does feel like you’d need 200+ to have a chance at defending it.

RECOMMENDED BET:

It’s no surprise to see RCB as the clear favourites here. They are trading 1.61 at the time of writing, and I still feel that price offers some value. Sunrisers Hyderabad have been well short of the required standard this IPL, and although as I highlighted above you could say that they come into this game in the best form of the tournament for them, that is still a level below RCB. Also, RCB won’t mind this game not being in Bengaluru given they have a pretty poor record in the home ground. I’m happy to keep stakes small, but the 1.61 on RCB is worth backing.

The Edge Says:
One point win Royal Challengers Bengaluru to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad at 1.61 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:

As this ground seems to be very consistent with the scoring, it seems a shrewd tactics to focus on finding trades on either batting side rather than the bowling sides here. I’d be a lot happier opening a position on the RCB batting compared to the Sunrisers Hyderabad batting however! It has felt like chasing has offered a slight edge here, so the best move might be to wait until the innings break – hopefully the chasing side will have been pushed out a little with a reasonable score on the board – and then open a position. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see 190/200 chased at this ground.
