MATCH OVERVIEW:
The IPL came back at the weekend after a very dramatic week. First, the tournament was postponed because of the conflict between India and Pakistan – almost just as the IPL and the PSL games were called off, a ceasefire was called and here we are. An excellent week of cricket awaits on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, and it’s good to have the IPL back. Obviously it has caused a lot of disruption to International players and we’re going to have plenty of changes – especially for sides who make the playoffs given we will now run into International fixtures.
Anyway, the show goes on and we start the weekend with Lucknow Super Giants hosting Sunrisers Hyderabad. Lucknow Super Giants put themselves in a superb position in the race for the playoff spots early in the tournament – they won four of their first six games – but the IPL is a long tournament, and now after three straight losses they are up against it. They’ve lost four of their last five, and now they are in a position where they will need other results to go their way as well as winning their final three games. The good news for Lucknow is that the Sunrisers Hyderabad have been a poor outfit this season, so they have a good chance of getting past step one to keep their dreams alive!
Sunrisers Hyderabad have looked short on quality this season – their bowling has really been hammered at times, and they could actually be sitting in last spot bar we didn’t get a result in their game with Delhi Capitals prior to the break.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
Given the situation I would go into “opening” each game at a different venue with an open mind this week. It’s only been a short break, but cricket moves quickly. I feel it’s a shrewd play to not go into a game with a set view on what the wicket will play like – it’s been a difficult time for the ground staff. Scoring has been reasonably good in Lucknow, but it has reduced as the tournament has gone on. The first inning scores have been; 171/7 (chased), 203/8 (won), 180/6 (chased), 166/7 (chased) and 159/6 (chased).
RECOMMENDED BET:
It’s no surprise that Lucknow Super Giants are the favourites here. They might have lost momentum prior to the break, but they have been playing much better cricket compared to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Lucknow are trading 1.82 and I still feel that price offers value – the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling has been exceptionally poor throughout most of the IPL – and I feel that will be the deciding factor at this ground. Lucknow are a confident bet to get back to winning ways.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
As I said above, I would go into every first game back at each venue with an open mind on conditions. From that point of view, it’s hard to form a set in-running strategy heading into the game. I do feel chasing will offer a slight edge looking at how the games have played here this season – but I do see the most market movement when Lucknow bat in whichever innings that is. I’m keen to take on the Sunrisers bowling again.
