BRIGHTON V NEWCASTLE

2pm We have another huge Super Sunday from the Premier League as we tick down to the end of the season on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. There’s no doubt that Chelsea v Liverpool is the highlight fixture, but with the title already in the bag for Liverpool that game might lack a little intensity – Chelsea will be hoping Liverpool turn up a little hungover from the party anyway given they still have to secure their Champions League spot for next season. We have three games kicking off at 2pm to start the day, and although the Europa League boys are in action with Manchester United and Spurs both away from home, easily the pick of the three fixtures is Brighton hosting Newcastle in my opinion. This is the most open market of the day, and obviously Newcastle are still pushing for a Champions League spot so it’s a massive game for them too. Newcastle come into the game as the favourites at 2.42 with Brighton 2.96 and the draw is 3.9 at the time of writing. Newcastle are in a pretty strong position as they sit in third coming into the matchday – obviously you’d expect Manchester City to have jumped over them by kick off, but Nottingham Forest losing at home on Thursday night was a great results for the Geordies.

Brighton have been struggling this season to be honest and sit down in mid-table. They are just going through the motions to finish out the season now, and they have a lot to improve on at the back. Their average xG conceded is very respectable at 1.26 but they’ve been very sloppy and a little unlucky because their actual average goals conceded figure is very high at 1.62. That is what has them not pushing for a European spot, and that’s something they will want to correct during the summer. Newcastle have actually been the opposite to Brighton in the sense that they are over-performing at the back. Their average xG conceded is quite high at 1.47 but their actual figure is only 1.29 so they have been grinding out results and getting away with things at the back. This is a very interesting market; Brighton haven’t been a side to rely on this season but on pure stats they have been playing marginally better than Newcastle. I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here because this game screams goals in my opinion. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.59 and Both Teams To Score is a couple of ticks shorter at 1.53. I’d be surprised if we didn’t see a very end-to-end game here, and I’m happy with a confident bet on Overs.

Three points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.59 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

CHELSEA V LIVERPOOL

4.30pm We finish Super Sunday with Chelsea hosting Liverpool – this is usually a cracking fixture but as I said above, now that Liverpool have the title in the bag obviously you have to wonder what motivation levels they will have coming into this game! Chelsea are still pushing for a Champions League spot, and obviously they’ll be hoping for a sub-par performance from the new Champions. Obviously there’s also the possibility that Arne Slot will give some of the younger players a chance now that we are at that stage of the season. I feel the best advice heading into this game is to keep stakes pretty small before seeing the team news. The market is expecting Liverpool to not be at their best given the prices on offer – whether that’s just the players being a little lacklustre after a week of celebrating or Slot deciding to give the younger squad players a go. Chelsea come into the game as the favourites at 2.24 with Liverpool 3.3 and the draw is 3.95 at the time of writing. Chelsea were in action on Thursday night in the Europa Conference League, and effectively put that tie to bed.

They won 4-1 away from home, and if they had nothing to achieve in the Premier League they might opt to rest players, but obviously they need to stay in those Champions League spots. Nottingham Forest losing on Thursday night was a superb result for Chelsea – Forest were level on points with them heading into that game in hand but fluffed their lines at home to Brentford. This is a very difficult game for betting in my opinion; obviously Chelsea have clear motivation and Liverpool don’t – were at that stage of the season now when situations like this become a huge factor. Usually you wouldn’t go near Chelsea at 2.24 against Liverpool, but after the team news that could look big. I’m actually going to stay away from the match odds market here, and I feel we’ll see goals. I can’t see Liverpool sitting back whatever side they name as they look to enjoy the end of the their season now. They will be in party mode, and Chelsea generally have leaked goals this season as well as created a lot of chances. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.6 and that looks a nice position.

The Striker Says:
One point win Over 2.5 goals at 1.6 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
