PSG V INTER MIAMI

5pm The FIFA Club World Cup Last 16 games continue on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE, and we have a cracking Sunday ahead! We have two massive European clubs in action, and no doubt that the PSG v Inter Miami game will take the headlines given it’s Messi against his old club. That’s where we kick off the day as PSG and Inter Miami. PSG have obviously done superbly well since getting rid of their three big stars – they definitely didn’t play like a team when they had Neymar, Messi and Mbappe up top. Apart from those headlines though with Messi, on paper this is effectively a miss-match. PSG are current Champions League winners, and Inter Miami have only won half of their MLS games this season before coming into this tournament. To be fair, they topped the Eastern Conference while easily last season but the MLS is miles off the level required here. Even if we joke that Ligue 1 in France is a farmers league! The gulf in class is reflected in the betting, and it’s no surprise that PSG come into the game as the red-hot favourites. PSG are trading as short as 1.24 with Inter Miami 14.0 and the draw is 7.8 at the time of writing.

That 1.24 on PSG is actually the shortest price in the Last 16 stage – the only other game that comes close is Manchester City against Al-Hilal. Inter Miami had a reasonably OK Group on paper too, but they failed to top it with Brazilian club Palmeiras finishing top on goal difference. Inter Miami were lucky to beat Porto too; they finished the game with a lower xG figure. Messi scored a wonderful goal that was the difference though! PSG managed to top their Group but it wasn’t without dram – they had a shock loss against Botafogo which effectively knocked Atletico Madrid out. They dominated the game though, it was just one of those days the ball didn’t go into the net. I can’t see past a comfortable win for PSG here to be honest, and I feel this one is going to be about how many goals PSG can score rather than will they win. Inter Miami have been pretty poor at the back, and given the volume of chances PSG have been creating I feel they can cover the handicap. They are trading 1.63 -1.5 goals and that looks a cracking position to start the day.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win PSG -1.5 goals to beat Inter Miami at 1.63 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

FLAMENGO V BAYERN MUNICH

9pm We finish Sunday night with Flamengo and Bayern Munich clashing. It’s fair to say that Bayern Munich ending up in this tie was a bit of a shock – they would have been fully expected to top Group C with Benfica, Boca Juniors and Auckland City. Things were going to plan with two wins from two games until they bumped into Benfica and lost their final Group game! Benfica put on a defensive masterclass to be fair; they conceded a huge amount of possession but Bayern didn’t create enough to win the game. You could say that Flamengo wouldn’t have been expected to be here either; they topped a Group that included Chelsea. They actually hammered Chelsea 3-1 in the end with Chelsea collapsing in the second half after leading 1-0 at the break. However, a 1-1 draw in their final game against Los Angeles, who did look very poor, is a big red flag for Flamengo. They continued their trend at this tournament of the Brazilian sides doing really well in the Group stage though – interesting to see if they continues now in the knockout stages. Looking at the under-lining numbers, Flamengo were unlucky not win that game against Los Angeles – as you would expect really.

It’s no surprise to see Bayern Munich come into this game as the odds on favourites, but they aren’t massively short and there are plenty of willing layers. Bayern Munich are trading 1.74 with Flamengo 5.3 and the draw is 4.1 at the time of writing. The Bayern performance against Benfica was pretty poor – as I said above they had a lot of the ball but didn’t create much. Their possession was 73% and their xG figure was only 1.55. Considering they average over 2.0 in the Bundesliga, that’s a low figure – it’s not like Benfica are an exceptionally strong side either. It’ll be interesting to see how they get on here – Flamengo were excellent against Chelsea and although they had that disappointing draw against Los Angeles – they did play well enough that they deserved to win. I feel this one will be closer than the odds suggest, and from a value point of view I’m happy with a small lay on Bayern at the odds. I’d have them trading a little higher based on what we’ve seen from Flamengo.

The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Bayern Munich to beat Flamengo at 1.74 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
