SEVILLA V LAS PALMAS

8.30pm We’re ticking down the matchdays on La Liga this week as we have a full midweek fixture list on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. With Barcelona all but mathematically confirming the title by winning El Clasico at the weekend, attention turns to the relegation battle this week. We have some huge games this week in that regard, and the highlight on Tuesday night is Sevilla hosting Las Palmas. It’s been quite a fall from grace for Sevilla over the last number of seasons, and they aren’t quite out of the relegation race yet. They come into this fixture just four points away from the bottom three!

Las Palmas are a side under immense pressure as they come into this week sitting in the relegation zone. This is a must win game for both sides really – for Sevilla it’s a chance to move away from having a very nervous final two matchdays and for Las Palmas, it’s a chance to jump over Leganes and sit level on points with Alaves, they’d also be just three points behind Sevilla then. Getting a win away from home is obviously going to be a massive ask for Las Palmas, but Sevilla have been all over the place for a while now. Their win in the Europa League papered over the issues in La Liga in 2022/23 but it’s hard to believe they were a consistent top four side when you look at them now.

With that being said, Las Palmas have very poor this season – their place in the table shows that – and while there are plenty of willing layers, it’s no surprise to see Sevilla come into the game as the odds on favourites given they have home advantage. Sevilla are trading 1.9 with Las Palmas 4.7 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing. You wouldn’t be rushing to back Sevilla at odds on given how few games they’ve managed to win this season – only nine from their 35 La Liga games – but they have been playing at a much better level when compared to Las Palmas.

Sevilla have the better attacking figure and the better defensive figure. Las Palmas have really struggled at the back; their average xG conceded is 1.63 is the fourth worst in La Liga. Both sides have really struggled to create good quality chances and actually convert them. Sevilla have a mid-table attacking figure with an average xG of 1.41 but they are massively under-performing in front of goal, only converting an average of 1.11 per game. Las Palmas have a smaller average xG created at 1.24, but they’ve actually scored one more goal than Sevilla this season.

We have two sides here who have really struggled to win games and score goals. The draw at 3.7 looks an appealing position in the match odds market. This game also screams Under 2.5 goals, and that’s trading 1.86. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet to be honest, however I do feel at 3.7 there’s marginally more value in the draw in what should be a close game where the sides might cancel each other out.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Draw at 3.7 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
