DUNDALK ON FRIDAY NIGHT: SHAMROCK looks at the Dundalk card tonight under the floodlights. His best bet of the night runs in the 7.10.
The best bet on tonight’s trappy Dundalk card could well be Alcatraz in the maiden at 7.10.
There’s a few debutants which is obviously a risk, but none leap off the page as likely to go in at the first time of asking.
Alcatraz finished in mid-division on his Curragh debut and then improved on that to finish second at 16/1 behind the odds-on Giovanni Canaletto at Leopardstown.
Although easily beaten by the winner (who looks very useful indeed), he showed enough to suggest he can play a leading hand here.
Obvious danger is Park Rebel who was a promising third on debut at Leopardstown – but that was on soft ground and it’s a vastly different underfoot going tonight.
